Access facilitation pruning

Where trees are retained on a proposed development site it is important to consider how plant and machinery including cranes will access the site and be able to undertake the construction operations without the need to remove the tree protection fencing around the RPA. A schedule of tree works for all the retained trees specifying pruning and other remedial or preventative work, whether for physiological, hazard abatement, aesthetic or operational reasons should accompany the application. All tree works shall be carried out in accordance with BS3998, 1989, Recommendations for tree work.

Written proof of the credentials of the arboricultural contractor instructed to carry out the scheduled tree works should also be supplied.
